Best Dog Spots in St. Petersburg

There are so many pet-friendly parks and places in the St. Petersburg area to take your lovable pup. Pinellas County is consistently becoming more and more supportive of furry family members, and many business are jumping on board so that customers don’t have to leave their dogs at home. Here are a few of my favorite local spots where dogs are welcome.

Dog-Friendly Spot for Drinks: The Ale & The Witch

Tucked away in the Tower Plaza Courtyard in downtown St. Pete, this beer-lover’s paradise has a plethora of craft beers on tap. In an area flooded with cover bands, The Ale & The Witch supports original artists and has live music every single night. The taphouse’s large courtyard is filled with tables for imbibing outdoors, and best of all, it is all dog-friendly! On any given night your pup is sure to find a few new friends lounging with their owners.

Fort DeSoto’s Beach for Water-Loving Pups

If your dog loves the water, there is no better place than Fort DeSoto’s Dog Beach. This large stretch of beach is great for owners and dogs alike, but be warned–this off-leash beach is not fenced in, so if your dog is a runner you will want to keep an extra close eye on his whereabouts. Perfect for a full beach day outing with the family, this really is the best spot–so few beaches in Pinellas allow dogs, and Fort DeSoto’s Dog Beach is always full of lovable (and wet) puppy socialites.
